Free Language Resource Website Launched

Every now and then something exciting enough happens here at Conscious Manifestations to announce it on all our sites. This is one of those occasions.

A Few Small Tweaks and Update Info

Today I made a few small tweaks for better navigation. The site map link is now available on the top right, where it should be!

The rest is just little enhancements such as block placement and sorting.

Coming soon are the promised updates to the site software, Drupal, as well as a host of new softwares, long overdue.

Also - with the new update will be a brand new theme for the site, since it looks a little tired at this point. I have so many projects going on at Conscious Manifestations (such as the newly release SynthWise and Free Parkour site) that it sometimes takes me a while to get back to updates and that sort of thing.

Soon I will be getting some help, so that will be very handy!

Thanks for your continued support.

Updating Drupal, Adding More Wiki Engines, Tags/Tag Clouds and More

It has been a while since I have updated this site. I have been quite busy with the flow of life.

I am getting back into the swing of things with Conscious Manifestations, and Free Wiki is at the top of the priority list.

What does this mean?

Well...

1) Free Wiki gets a much-needed and overdue upgrade to Drupal 4.7.
2) More softwares get added to the line-up.
3) The information architecture of the site gets a serious upgrade.
4) Tags and tag clouds are implemented.

And so much more.

All of this... coming soon. :)

Ciao for now.

Free Wiki

Added Google Site Search

I just added Google site search to enable a powerful search of all the content on this site.

There is also a block for searching now as well.

In addition, outside of the search stuff, I added an Amazon books block that brings up a single book at a time that regards wikis. Gotta make those ends meet. ;) Indeed, people may be interested in that they see.

Updates for 031006

Today I made some major changes to the navigation, enabling people to quickly sort the wikis using the top navigation menu.

I have also spent a lot of time testing out Drupal 4.7 beta 5. Once the 4.7 stable release is out, I am going to upgrade to this version as it has a lot of very nice features like tagging posts rather than categorizing them.

This will be a major change and will create a lot more easy navigation and will also allow me to more easily add a lot more ways to have the information filtered and sorted.

TiddlyWiki

From TiddlyWiki Site:

"Welcome to TiddlyWiki, an experimental MicroContent WikiWikiWeb built by JeremyRuston. It's written in HTML, CSS and JavaScript to run on any modern browser without needing any ServerSide logic. It allows anyone to create personal SelfContained hypertext documents that can be posted to any WebServer, sent by email or kept on a USB thumb drive to make a WikiOnAStick."

Features:

TiddlyWiki has a very interesting way of displaying information which is incredibly cool, but does not leave the linking to of certain parts of the site as easy as more standard sites. This is neither good not bad, just unique and different. Thus, this posting will be unlike the others in that it will simply link to the TiddlyWiki Site where you can find all the info usually linked directly to in a Free Wiki posting.

Added TWiki to the Line Up

The TWiki project really caught my attention. It is solid and very pretty as well - nice CSS.

There is lots of documentation and plenty of serious companies out there that use it (not that that means much as such, but you get the point).

Have a look!

TWiki

From TWiki Site:

"Welcome to TWiki, a flexible, powerful, and easy to use enterprise collaboration platform. It is a Structured Wiki, typically used to run a project development space, a document management system, a knowledge base, or any other groupware tool, on an intranet or on the internet. Web content can be created collaboratively by using just a browser. Users without programming skills can create web applications. Developers can extend the functionality of TWiki with Plugins."

Welcome to Free Wiki

Thanks for dropping in. We're glad you're here.

Free Wiki exists to provide new and experienced wiki-interested people with a good resource for existing free software wikis, complete with screenshots, links to pertinent information such as downloads and docs, links for quick customized searches (e.g., to find a wiki written in php using a mysql database and released under a GPL license).

We encourage wiki software developers who are interested in having an account with us to maintain their own wiki software page to contact us. We would be most honored to have you take part in this site.

Also included on this site are feeds from the main Wikimedia projects, including Wikipedia, Wiktionary, Wikiquotes, Wikisource, Wikinews, Wikibooks and Wikispecies.

We have chosen to add Google AdSense text ads to help with the cost of hosting. We hope they are not too much of a bother for you. Indeed, they might actually help some people find exactly what they need.

Enjoy!
